Drop the yarn and put your hands up!
The adventures of a maniacal crafter

Anniversary acks

2005-01-18
Okay, like the horrible daughter I always knew I was, I forgot (until yesterday) that my parents 20th wedding anniversary was today. I spent hours and hours poring over patterns yesterday, looking for something I thought they'd like and appreciate. I tried blocks, I tried strips, I've got two 15 inch squares sitting here without mates because I finally, at 4 am this morning decided on what I wanted to do for them.

I found a pattern for a textured afghan started on point and decided to go with that. (Pattern is here. It's working up pretty quickly, but I probably won't get it to them until at least the weekend. I'm broke, so I'm using the yarn I picked up for my tunic. I'll work on that another time.

That's been about it for me the past couple of days...ripping my hair out trying to find something that wasn't just going to be a quick project, but something that they would love and maybe eventually would become an heirloom. I love my parents and I want them to know how happy I am that they've been together so long.

I'll post some pictures when I get this beast finished. I'm off to do another round!
