Jackpot!
I read online that you could dismantle sweaters to re-use the yarn and thought it would be a cheap way to get some better qualities of yarn that are so out of my price range. I found this great tutorial for dismantling a sweater step by step.
I went to the Salvation Army this afternoon and picked up five sweaters for .99 apiece. One is 100% alpaca, one is 100% cotton, another is chenille and the other two are an acrylic/wool blend.
I got lucky with the first one I decided to take apart. It had good seams throughout.

This is just the two sleeves and the front. I still have the entire back to go and holy cow that's alotta yarn!!!
I'm tickled pink because I just got a couple hundred dollars worth of yarn for $5.00 !
I haven't begun to think of what I should use it for. I think I'll save that for after I'm finished pulling them apart.
