baby doll
I feel like crying.
However, crying won't bring it back, so I'll have to start over. I'll probably condense it though...it was a biggie.
The last week has been tough for me crochet-wise. I haven't had the drive behind me like with most of my projects. I've sat down every night since I finished the doily I made for my husband as an anniversary gift, and still haven't managed to make anything I haven't frogged.
I decided to make an outfit for the Madame Alexander doll my mother got for me as a little girl. Her little knickers elastic was streched out and the white of her pinafore was yellowed. I'd found a leaflet at the Salvation Army for crocheted doll clothes and decided to make her a cute little snow bunny type outfit.

I worked it in lilac and purple Red Heart and used some purple fire opal-ish buttons I picked up at Wal-mart. It really turned out adorable. The pattern came with a hat, but since I could tell I was running out of steam and probably wouldn't finish a hat, I decided just to make her a little headband. I chained the circumferance of her head and then made a row of double crochet. Then I attached a rose (from the pattern at LionBrand) and that was it!
I really do wish I hadn't screwed up the original entry, it was so much better.
*sigh*
Nothing I can do about it now. Regardless, I hope that I've finally broken my crochet block. Trying to work on something all week and not getting any further than a couple rows is the most frustrating thing ever.
My parents just got a new motor home though and I'm sure I can whip up several adorable things for them...
