Chignon net

2005-05-27
Hammie came over and visited with me last night. It was nice catching up since we haven't been able to spend a whole lot of time together lately. That's a busy woman, I tell ya! Between her new job, wonky schedule and a pending trip to Hawaii, I can't believe she's got time to sleep!

Our conversations were as usual...I spoke of crochet, she spoke of work, I spoke of knit, she spoke of her daughter, I spoke of crochet, she spoke of crochet, etc. etc. etc.

Sometime during the conversation, crochet was brought up (can you believe it?) and she mentioned that she'd like a snood or a bun cover to wear with the dress she bought for her anniversary in Hawaii. It's a sleek little chinese number, with mandarin collar (If I remember correctly) in black and silver. She'd originally talked of it being beaded, but since I can't for the life of me find a silver bead in this house, I held silver sewing thread in with my black #10 thread.

This is the result

I think it turned out really nice, I just hope that it's big enough.

I used the Chignon net from Priscilla's crochet pattern site. Since my size 8 steel hook must be hiding with my silver beads, I used a size 9. I don't think it made it too much smaller.

There's a tank top that one of the ladies at Crochetville designed...I think that I may meander over there and see if it's something I feel like adding to Hammie's suitcase.
